Leave our Kenny alone

There are several southern diddies posing as football writers and the headline which prompted this response came after Liverpool’s win against Blackburn.

The quote read “Late Carroll goal spares Dalglish’s blushes” which looks like the usual ploy to create a headline as opposed to an accurate observation. If Carroll’s goal spared anyone’s blushes they were surely his own given the poor level of performances he has given his club to date.

The southern hacks are quick to suggest that poor performances are down to the lack of management skills on the part of the boss, but former players of the standing of Alan Hansen, Alan Shearer, Ian Rush and Mark Lawrenson have all praised him as a manager. Put into international context they represent Scotland, England, Wales and The Republic of Ireland.

Kenny did not sign bad players as Downing, Henderson and the aforementioned Carroll were all England internationalists at the time, and Charlie Adam had played for Scotland. Not only that he was in big demand by a few clubs following an impressive season at Blackpool.

The truth is there have been inconsistent and often poor performances on a regular basis by one or other of the very same people.

As a final thought Kenny is the only manager to have won England’s top flight league competition with two different clubs. That is something Fergie has yet to achieve but he won’t venture out of his comfort zone.

Well said, it’s good to see some support for Kenny outside of Liverpool.

Well said. Kenny has nothing to prove. It is already proven.

Agree with the sentiments, but Cloughie did win the league with two teams – forest and Derby. So Dalglish has him for company on that list.

No disrespect to KD, but we are currently with the worst record, since 1953, are we not?.

Are you saying that, Carroll, Adam,Downing, were good signings?, at the prices KD paid, for them?, because they were England and Scotland internationals?.

England have NOT won anything since 1966, and have since been very average at best, and Scotlands’ Adam’s?, enough said!.

KD’s ‘Buy British’ agenda, will never work, in 2012, all he’s doing is narrowing the global players market, to about 1%…..and that’s a fact.

I agree it’s the players that haven’t performed , but isn’t that the managers job to get them playing well or drop the ones playing bad?

Good to see Kenny get some support, a lot of people have said Kenny is rude during interviews, so would many of us if we had been treated the way he has by the press.
The Kenny bashing idiots on supposed fan sites should keep their mouths shut, sites likes Liverpool- Kop are pathetic in their attempts to bring down Kenny.

I was about to correct myself about saying that Kenny was the only one to win the top title with two different clubs until I remembered Cloughie. You beat me to it good for you,
    Cheers,Allan
    Red should reconsider his comment.
It is the manager’s job to encourage players to perform and as his international former players have already supported him in that respect who is red to criticise. The fact is that he has changed his formations and given the under achievers the opportunity to perform, but if the under achievers can’t or won’t perform he has to wait until the summer to make changes.
By the way his policy of signing young English players was instigated and encouraged by the owners.
    Cheers,Allan
